Photoshoot Make Up | Boudoir & Portraits

November 6, 2019

Every Crystal McMonnies Photography experience offers the chance to include professional hair and make up including lashes.  Nothing better than looking and feeling your best with flattering makeup.

Professional make up helps create the best possible experience.  Our professionals know their stuff - lighting, styling, your comfort level, and your face/feature shape.  They take all of that into consideration so you look your best.

The beauty of modern portraits is that we live in a time where things like Pinterest exist. We can so easily show the hairstyle we want, instead of attempting a complicated mix of ums, uhh, random descriptions and complicated hand gestures.

When choosing your hair and makeup style for your photos, you can go natural or moody, sleek or boho or anything in between.

Whatever you choose, we have a few Pinterest boards to help.  Check out our Make Up board and our Hairstyle board to start your own mood board.

How to prepare for your shoot:

1. Consider your style and wardrobe:

If you're wearing a daring and strappy dress with dark moody light and backdrops, a vampy smokey eye would look amazing.  And if you're into the airy, bright and playful vibes, a clean natural vibe would work best.

3. Prep your skin

Laying a great foundation for your makeup is key.  This starts weeks before you session.  Amazing skin looks good on everyone!  Drink lots of water, get good rest, and exfoliate.  And if you're wanting to go the extra mile, book a facial a week before.
